Our Free Seed Distribution model depends on community support.
Seed is free because someone funds it. Your gift pays for the growing, cleaning, packing, and mailing that puts open-pollinated seed into gardens at no cost to the people planting it.
What your gift does:
$15 covers packaging and postage for several free seed orders.
$50 funds the cleaning and packing of a variety for distribution.
$300+ funds a full seed increase: we send a variety to a small grower who plants it, tends it, and returns many times what they were given. One packet becomes hundreds. That is how free seed stays free.
Other ways to give
Add a gift at checkout when you request seed. Join our mailing list and share the work. Save seed from what you grow and send some back, which is its own kind of donation.
